Wera Hobhouse, the MP for Bath, questioned the government minister, asking him to commit to changes to Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) governance. This follows from a recent report by the Victims Commissioner outlining a horrific rate of rape cases getting to trial - just 1%.

On Tuesday 14th December, Bath MP Wera Hobhouse questioned the Secretary of State for Justice, Dominic Raab, over plans to reform the Human Rights Act (HRA). The Act, which sets out how Government bodies must treat its citizens, is key to the integrity of our justice system. The wording is derived from the European Convention of Human Rights.

Last week in Parliament, Bath MP Wera Hobhouse called for a debate on ambulance waiting times and how the Government plans to tackle this issue. The call comes as a 91-year-old Bath man waited seven hours for an ambulance after a fall. Similarly, people in North Shropshire are having to wait for four hours for an ambulance. It’s thought that the issue has angered people so much that this could sway people’s vote in the North Shropshire by-election next week.
