MP Welcomes Bath Rugby Announcement

Wera Hobhouse, MP for Bath, welcomed the announcement by Bath Rugby that future plans for the proposed new 'Stadium for Bath' will not include a car park under the pitch as was originally put forward.

Wera Hobhouse said:

"This is a very positive development in what had become a controversial proposal. Many residents were concerned about the impact that the proposed new stadium, with its underpitch parking and higher elevations, would have on their neighbourhood and on the city as a whole.

"Congratulations to everyone who has worked tirelessly together, these past months, to reach this point.

"Bath Rugby is an important facet of our city. It is important that we keep working together to keep the game of rugby in Bath.”
