Support for Local Businesses

Invest in Bath:

This Council-led service is co-ordinating support services to local businesses in light of the COVID19 public health situation. Invest in Bath will be sharing further information about targeted business support and financial assistance that is available as and when further schemes are announced. The Government announced a new Expanded Retail Discount scheme for retail, leisure and hospitality premises in response to COVID-19. Under the scheme, eligible premises will receive a discount of up to 100% on their bill for 2020/21.

Information for Employers:

The Government has important information for any local employers who have furloughed their staff because of the coronavirus. Employers can now claim for 80% of their employee's wages, plus any employer National Insurance and pension contributions. Follow this link for more information.

Information for Employees:

If you are 19 or over and your job and income have been affected by coronavirus, you can get help from the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) through its expanded career coaching and support service, Future Bright. The service is for:

* Those who have been made redundant, laid off or are at risk of redundancy, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic

* Employees whose hours have been significantly reduced, and who have a lower income (e.g. zero hours, cut from full to part time)

* Self-employed workers, where their ability to earn has been severely impacted due to the nature of their business

* Furloughed employees, if their reduced income means they are eligible for Universal Credit.
