Wera Calls on Chancellor to Protect Incomes

Alongside a cross-party group of MPs, Wera is calling on the Chancellor to improve the economic measures put in place to protect incomes during the Covid-19 crisis.

Many constituents have contacted Wera to express their distress about the devastating impact that the Coronavirus crisis is having on their livelihoods.

Urgent changes must be made to enable these schemes to work better for people in Bath.

Wera and her colleagues are asking the Chancellor to:

* Accelerate payments for the Job Retention Scheme

* Change the qualification date from 28 February to lockdown day

* Close the gaps for self-employed support

* Improve Covid Business Interruption Loans
