Bath Briefing 2019: Climate Change, Thursday 13th June, 6:30 - 8:30 pm, BRLSI, Bath.
The most recent IPCC Report set a deadline to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees. It has prompted many of us - from Extinction Rebellion to the Youth Climate Alliance - to act. We are facing a climate emergency.
I’m thrilled to be hosting a talk by Dr Jo House, PhD, BSc Honors, Reader in Environmental Science and Policy at the University of Bristol. Jo is one of the lead authors of the IPCC Reports, the 1.5 degree Reports and the recent Committee on Climate Change Report. She says: “My research is on land and climate interactions, including emissions of carbon dioxide from land use change (e.g. deforestation), climate mitigation potential from the land (e.g. afforestation, bioenergy), and implications of science for policy.”
We are delighted that Jo has found time in her busy schedule to speak to us about her incredibly important and timely work. Tickets are free and available via Eventbrite.
SAVE THE DATE: On Saturday 13th July we are holding a free, day-long conference on what Climate Change will mean for Bath and how we can fight it. The venue is The Edge at the University of Bath. We’re bringing together impressive national and local speakers. Stay tuned for information on how to book tickets.
