Bath MP Applauds Zenith Youth Theatre Company’s Spectacular Production

On 15th February Wera Hobhouse, Liberal Democrat MP for Bath, attended the Zenith Youth Theatre Company’s production of Barnum.

Founded in 1963 as Bodlets, and now proudly celebrating its 60th anniversary, Zenith Youth Theatre Company is open to all young people between 13 and 21 who demonstrate an enthusiasm and commitment to the group’s aim of musical theatre performance to the highest standard.

Telling the story of the infamous showman P.T. Barnum, the original ringleader, the actors brought the circus to Bath with a joyful and moving musical portrait of the nineteenth century legend.

Wera Hobhouse MP expressed her enthusiasm for the production, stating,

"It was a joy to attend Zenith Youth Theatre's rendition of 'Barnum!' The commitment and passion demonstrated by these young performers and the supportive staff is truly commendable.

"The vital role that long-standing organisations like the Zenith Youth Theatre play in nurturing creativity and providing valuable opportunities for our youth to thrive cannot be overstated.”

Speaking to the importance of youth theatre and creative outlets for children, Georgia Tilley of Zenith Youth Theatre Company, commented,

“We were so pleased Wera was able to join us for our recent production of Barnum; it’s great to be able to share our young people’s enthusiasm and commitment with audiences who appreciate the importance of performing arts. Zenith has been entertaining the local community for over 60 years and we are looking forward to continuing this for many years to come.”
